654SMo/(S32654, 1.4652)654 SMO has high strength and excellent plasticity and toughness, in many strong corrosive media, the steel’s resistance to general and local corrosion is not only better than the existing 6% Mo type super austenitic stainless steel and super duplex stainless steel, but 654 SMO’s resistance to local corrosion is often close to or better than some of the noted high chromium, molybdenum-nickel based corrosion resistant alloys. 654 SMO is used for equipment, components, vessels, heat exchangers and pipelines in the chemical, seawater, paper industry and flue gas cleaning environments such as flue gas desulphurisation (FGD). 

654SMo (S32654, 1.4652) super austenitic stainless steel is a super austenitic stainless steel containing 23% nickel, 25% chromium and 7% molybdenum, its corrosion resistance is much better than ordinary austenitic steel.
