Basic Tyre Care & Maintenance Tips for Scooty Owners
Tyre care plays an important role in keeping your scooter up and running in efficient condition. Failing to look after them can easily compromise with the safety and efficiency of your scooty. Whether your scooty has tubeless tyres or tube type, these basic tips can be helpful.
Tyre Air Pressure
-Know the ideal PSi (mentioned in the owner’s manual)
-Use a pressure gauge for a reading
-Avoid over-inflating or underinflating tyres
-Check air pressure frequently (ideally once in two weeks)
Check Treads
– Clean tyres regularly- Remove any dirt, debris, or pebbles clogging the tread and grooves- Check for any balding area or low tread- Replace tyres when tread runs loose, or depth begins to deteriorate significantly
Fix any Cuts and Bumps
-Frequently inspect for signs of cuts, bulges or lumps-Get cuts and puncture marks fixed asap
-Get tyres checked by a professional mechanic
-Replace when tyres have a weakened structure or are prone to punctures
