Carbon Steel Flange
Carbon steel flange, plate flange, or end flange connector made of carbon steel. It contains a carbon steel flange, called the carbon steel flange. Common materials are cast carbon steel plate Grade WCB, forging A105, or Q235B, A3, 10#, #20 steel, #45 steel, Q345B, etc.
Usually to prevent rust flange surface with electroplating layer (yellow zinc, white zinc, etc.), or brush antirust oil and spray antirust paint treatment.
Carbon Steel Flanges VS Iron Flange
1. Standard (Similarity):
Both carbon steel & iron are flange’s materials. Carbon steel flanges & iron flanges have ANSI/ASME, DIN, BS, JIS, UNI & EN 1092-1 standard.
2. Design Pressure (Difference):
Generally speaking, the pressure of is iron flange is lower than carbon steel.
Iron flanges pressure only can be PN6. Carbon steel flanges pressure is able to be PN40.
3. Type & Facing (Similarity):
Type: Slip-on, Weld Neck, Blind, Lap Joint, Socket Weld, Threaded. Plate, Loose, SOP, SOH(A B C )
Facing: RF, FF, RTJ
4. Installation (Similarity and Difference):
The mechanical properties of carbon steel flanges are better than that of iron flanges.
Both carbon steel flanges and iron flanges need to be treated against rust.
