Danfoss Motor – TSI Motor: What Are The Technical Points?
Danfoss Motor introduction: TSI is (double boost = turbocharger + supercharger), T refers to double boost, S refers to stratification, I refers to injection. TSI is more advanced than FSI and is a high-power, low-speed, high-torque Motor. The TSI Motor technology in the strict sense is a comprehensive application of double-pressurization and layered direct-injection technology, which has high technical requirements. The TSI technology used by Volkswagen in domestic mid- to low-end production vehicles is actually (turbocharger, fuel stratified injection is equivalent to TFSI (turbocharged), not dual turbocharged fuel stratified injection
The characteristic of turbocharging is to use exhaust gas. The device itself basically does not consume Motor power, and increases the efficiency of the intake air to improve the power. However, the disadvantage is that the Motor usually takes more than 2000 revolutions to intervene, which is not conducive to the acceleration of the starting, and the inertia of the turbine makes the acceleration A delay in response time.
The advantage of supercharging is that the Motor starts to intervene when it starts running, and the starting acceleration is powerful, there is no working delay of the turbine, and the response is immediate. The disadvantage is that the supercharger works through the power output of the Motor, consuming some of the Motor power.
TSI fuel direct injection technology achieves the perfect combination of Motor power and fuel economy under the same displacement. It is the most mature and advanced direct fuel injection technology in the automotive industry, and leads the development trend of gasoline Motors.
The TSI Motor that injects fuel directly into the cylinder has the advantage over a conventional Motor that injects fuel into the intake manifold:
– Motor control strategy based on torque control;
– The supercharger has an independent cooling system after the Motor has stopped;
– With electronic overspeed return control to prevent supercharger;
– Continuous variable intake air distribution phase (60° crank angle) to reduce fuel consumption and increase power;
– Chain drive. Long life, free replacement for life, reliability is much higher than the previous gear belt drive.
The new features of the TSI Motor come from a number of key components developed by Motorers, including:
– A common rail high pressure injection system designed specifically for this technology, single piston high pressure pump, is responsible for providing sufficient fuel to ensure that the system reaches the required pressure state;
– Newly designed new cylinder head with 4 valves per cylinder, the valve is driven by the cam roller follower;
– Sustainable control of the combustion process of the intake air;
– exhaust gas recovery system;
– Improved exhaust control system with NOx storage catalytic converter and NOx sensor, the increasing availability of low-sulfur gasoline, and the potential for comprehensive fuel economy.
