Introduction of Concrete Additives
Concrete additives are chemicals and materials blended into the cement to alter its performance. Additives provide a specific benefit for a particular job. Liquid additives used during cement grinding improve the strength of the cement. Concrete bonding additive bonds old concrete to new for interior and exterior jobs like wall capping and resurfacing. Color additives give concrete a stylish look. Whatever the job, concrete additives help get it done.
Cold weather concrete has superior properties to concrete placed in hot weather. At low temperatures, though, concrete sets and gains strength more slowly because the cement doesn’t hydrate as fast. Setting time is increased about one-third for each 10 degree decrease in concrete temperature down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Accelerating admixtures can help to offset these effects of low temperatures on setting and strength gain. They should meet the requirements of ASTM C 494, Standard Specifications for Chemical Admixtures for Concrete.
Sinofloc provides concrete additives for cold weather and concrete additives for waterproofing, which can be widely used in Construction.
