Tube Straightening Machine Processes:
A pipe straightener employs parabolic-shaped upper and lower rollers in conjunction with hydraulic cylinders to exert pressure between alternating parabolic rollers. This process eliminates any bends and twists in the pipe as it is fed through the rollers. The machine offers flexibility in straightening pipes by allowing the adjustment of the top and bottom rollers. They can be set anywhere from a right angle with respect to the pipe, up to approximately 45 degrees. The upper rollers can be adjusted in the opposite angular direction compared to the lower rollers.
Some of the upper and lower rollers are motorized, typically with hydraulic motors. These motors are interconnected in a series, ensuring that all rollers rotate at a consistent speed, while specific rollers remain stationary as idlers. The entire apparatus can be mounted on a structural frame, which, in turn, can be attached to a trailer axle for easy transport. This eliminates the need to transport bent or twisted pipes to the machine, as you can simply move the machine to the location of the pipes.
To facilitate the feeding of pipes into the machine, a V-trough is positioned at one end, guiding the pipes into and between the rollers. At the opposite end, a cone-shaped guide directs the straightened pipe as it exits the machine. The hydraulic power required to operate the machine can be sourced from the towing vehicle. Alternatively, an independent hydraulic system with an external power source, such as a motor or internal combustion engine, can be utilized. Both the upper and lower parabolic rollers are adjustable to modify the center distances between them, making the machine suitable for pipes of various sizes.
Biaohuang‘s Cross Roll tube straightening machine is a multi-roll machine used for straightening pipes without excessive cold working or introducing enough ellipticity to affect physical properties, especially compressive strength. Seamless or welded pipes are cold straightened primarily by passing them through the straightening machine, which consists of spaced sets of 5 or 7 or more rolls, each set capable of correcting the curvature of the pipe length. One pass is sufficient to achieve ASTM straightness and ovality tolerances. The cross rolls, one concave and one convex, rotate the pipe about its axis and axially feed it through frictional forces. Each pair of opposing drive rolls (one above and one below) can be hydraulically linked together or moved independently up or down to apply the required bending moment to straighten the pipe. This action counteracts forming, internal material, or welding thermal stresses. Over-straightening can damage the outer diameter characteristics of the pipe, so you must always monitor for side effects that would prevent you from achieving the highest quality level in the process. All parabolic shape rolls are made of forged, hardened, and ground D2 alloy for long life.
