The characteristics of using cleanroom wipes

Inspection cleanroom wipes must have the following characteristics, because they either clean the surface to its final cleanliness or make final contact with the surface after the final cleaning.

Cleanliness-Check that the rag must be at least as clean as the most important rag used in the cleaning process. In fact, it should be the cleanest wipe.

Therefore, it must be cleaned in a clean room to remove all particulate, non-volatile (NVR) and ionic contaminants. Preferably, it should have a sealed edge or a sealed border, because this is where the wipe comes off.

Absorbency-Check that the absorbent capacity of the wipe must equal or exceed all other wipes used in the cleaning process so that it can serve as the last cleaning and capture any contaminants left by the previous wipe.

Durability-The wipes must not fade and resist any chemical or mechanical (abrasive) erosion. Pure 100% monofilament polyester is perfect for this task, which is why it is used in the cleanest clean room wipes.

 

Visibility-particles and contaminants on the wiper must be clearly visible. Dark contaminants can be clearly seen on a typical white wipe. However, to see all other residual contaminants, you need to use the darkest wiping cloth. The blue wipes are not enough.The right size-wipes must be large enough (minimum 6″x6″; preferably 9″x9″) for proper operation
