Type 2 AC Car Charger Benefits
This charging method uses constant alternating current to charge, and the voltage is stable and will not cause impact on the lines of our vehicles and the batteries of the vehicles. Therefore, when we choose the charging method, try to choose slow charging to charge our vehicles. DC charging is fast, but it will damage the battery, AC is stable, but the charging efficiency is low.

Cable length from the type 2 charger to the car port
The AC Type 2 Charger plugs into a 240v outlet with a NEMA 6-50 connector, a three-prong outlet which many garages already have. An AC Type 2 Charger, which is non-networked and doesn’t need activation if you already have a 240v outlet, can be used right away because it draws electricity like any other appliance in your house.
If you do not have an existing 240v outlet where you want to plug-in and charge your EV, we recommend you hire an electrician to install a 240v outlet or hardwire the unit when installing your AC Type 2 Charger at home. For the greatest degree of flexibility in positioning your charging station to the electric car, all charge devices come with an 18- or 25-foot charging cable. To enhance your home charging experience, additional cable management accessories like the EV Cable Retractor offer even more customization and convenience.
