Working Performance of Roll Forming Machine
The roller forming machine has the principle of average force in each pass, which can extend the life of the roll. In production, it should be designed with balanced forces, accurate processing, and convenient installation and adjustment. The cold bending machine ensures the strength of the material, improves the quality of the supporting steel arch, and greatly improves the work efficiency. And its operation is simple and clear. Both have good working performance compared with each other.
Roll forming is a new process and technology of sheet metal forming that is material-saving, energy-saving, and efficient. With this process, not only can we produce high-quality profile steel products but also shorten the product development cycle and improve production efficiency, thereby improving the market competitiveness of the enterprise.
The roll forming process generally includes single sheet forming, roll forming, continuous forming, and combined forming.
The single sheet forming process is to cut the sheet into a specified length in advance, and then send the sheet into the roll forming machine through a material selection roller. After rolling, the material can be directly collected and stored, which is especially suitable for products that are easily deformed after the sheet is formed. It is mostly used for small batch production. Its advantages include simple equipment, low investment, and small floor space.
The process of roll forming and continuous forming is basically the same except for one difference. Namely, the joints of the continuously formed sheet must be welded to make the sheet continuously formed; while the roll forming is supplied with a single roll. The equipment investment and floor space required by these two processes are relatively large.
The combined forming process is suitable for processing special steels. Profile steel has special requirements on the forming process and requires complicated forming equipment. This process which is suitable for processing high-strength plates has high requirements for equipment and investment.
In recent years, as important structural parts, cold-formed profile steel products have been widely used in many fields such as construction, automobile manufacturing, shipbuilding, electronics industry, and machinery manufacturing. Its products includes wide range of types, from ordinary guide rails, doors and windows, and other structural parts to some special profiles for special purposes.
