Liquid Mass Flow Meter

A Liquid Mass Flow Meter is a precision instrument used to measure the mass flow rate of a liquid passing through a pipeline, rather than just the volumetric flow rate. It is widely used in industries such as chemical processing, oil and gas, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals, where accurate mass flow measurement is critical for process control and material balance.

Unlike traditional volumetric flow meters, which are influenced by changes in temperature and pressure, mass flow meters directly measure the mass of the liquid, ensuring high accuracy and reliability under varying operating conditions.

Working Mechanism

Vibrating Flow Tubes: The meter consists of one or two flow tubes that are set into controlled vibration.

Coriolis Effect Generation: When liquid flows through the vibrating tubes, the fluid’s mass causes a phase shift (twist) due to the Coriolis force.

Phase Shift Detection: Sensors measure this phase shift, which is directly proportional to the mass flow rate.

Calculation & Output: The meter’s electronics process the signals and convert them into a precise mass flow measurement.
