The weekend when the whole family cooks together
Me and my lover had an impressive and unforgettable trip to Istanbul, Turkey. Together we toured the city's famous landmarks, such as the Bosphorus Bridge, Aya Sofya Church, or Dolmabahçe Castle. We also tried the delicious local food together, like döner bread, mercimek soup, or chestnut lokum. We also got to experience the bustling atmosphere of the Kapalıçarşı grand market, where thousands of stalls sell everything from clothes and jewelry to ceramics and carpets.
You can easily make a long list of places to visit even before you board the plane to Istanbul because this is a very unique Asian-European blend city. "intercontinental" when located between two continents: Europe and Asia. There are amazingly rich historical architectural works here.
Overwhelmed with constructions It is the Blue Mosque, also known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque or the Blue Mosque. This is one of the oldest symbols of Istanbul, so much so that many visitors who have just set foot in Sultan Ahmed Square have rushed to grab anyone's hand and ask: "Where is the Blue Mosque?". Next is the Hagia Sophia museum, an important architectural work in Istanbul that the Roman emperor Justinian worked hard to build. Originally, in 536, it was an Eastern Christian cathedral but has since undergone many historical and religious transformations. In 1453, the conquistador Mehmet converted it into a mosque and added towering minarets. In 1935, Turkish president Mustafa Kema Ataturk declared it a history museum to preserve the cultural heritage of the two civilizations.

Hagia Sophia is a masterpiece of ancient Byzantine art, which preserves the imprints of history and religion. Stepping into the cathedral, I couldn't help but be overwhelmed by the magical beauty of glittering gold mosaics, majestic domes, intricately carved marble columns, walls full of patterns and symbols. . I feel the greatness and holiness of this place, which used to be a holy place of Christianity and Islam.
I also recall the fascinating scene in the spy movie 007 - "From Russia with love", when the James Bond guy mixed with the crowd of tourists to escape from the enemy. Basilica Cistern is a mysterious and magical building, located underground in the city of Istanbul. This used to be an important source of water for the people here since the 6th century, but then it was forgotten for hundreds of years. When I came down here, I felt like entering another world, where only the dim lights shone on 336 ancient pillars.
Most especially, the pillars are decorated with the image of Medusa - the goddess who turns people into stone in Greek mythology. I don't know why the ancient Romans chose this image to decorate their works, but I must admit that it creates a strange and unique charm for the Basilica Cistern.

What touched me the most was the romantic dinners with my lover in Istanbul. We had dinner together at luxury restaurants and watched the city shimmering with lights. We also had dinner together at rustic eateries and enjoyed traditional Turkish music. We also have dinner together on a yacht on the Bosphorus Strait and admire the beauty of the two continents Eurasia.
This trip is the sweetest memory of my life. I have had happy moments with my lover and explored a rich and diverse culture together. I hope to have the opportunity to return to Istanbul again to continue exploring the interesting things of this city.
