The 4WE series hydraulic valves feature a core structure of cast iron valve bodies and alloy steel valve spools. Cast iron offers good machine ability for creating precise internal galleries and port connections, and it effectively dampens vibrations transmitted from the hydraulic system. The valve spool, the moving core component, is made from alloy steel that is hardened and ground to a fine finish.
