Heat Shrink Sleeve
Heat shrink sleeves are a critical insulation and protection component for busway and busbar connections, providing comprehensive protection that extends the operational life and reliability of electrical distribution systems. Applied over busbar joints and connection points, they deliver multiple layers of protection against environmental and operational hazards.
The sleeve is heated during installation using a standard heat gun, causing it to contract tightly and conform to the exact shape of the underlying busbar — creating a permanent, seamless, and tamper-resistant encapsulation.
Four Key Protection Functions
Insulation Protection: Prevents accidental contact and arc flash hazards at exposed connection points, providing a dielectric barrier between live conductors and maintenance personnel.
Safety Isolation: Maintains proper phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground clearance, preventing bridging between adjacent conductors that could cause short circuits.
Corrosion Prevention: Shields conductive surfaces from moisture ingress, oxidation, and atmospheric pollutants that could degrade electrical performance over time.
Contamination Resistance: Protects against dust, chemical fumes, salt spray, and industrial contaminants that could compromise insulation resistance.
