Emergency Light Manufacturers – How To Install: Fire Emergency Lighting System?

Fire emergency lighting and evacuation indication system is a common fire protection system at present, and there are some mandatory requirements for this system in many areas.

Before the installation of fire emergency lighting and evacuation indicating system construction, should first check whether the product outer packing damage, appearance and structure of the existence of a problem, and in strict accordance with the construction process quality control requirements, system equipment, materials and accessories for on-site inspection (inspection) and the selection of conformity inspection, unqualified equipment, materials, parts and products do not meet the requirements of design drawings shall not be used.

Emergency Light Manufacturers     describe the general requirements for installation of fire emergency lighting systems:

1, fire emergency lamps and power supply lines can not use plug connection;

2. The installation of fire emergency lamps should not affect the normal passage of personnel, and the surrounding of fire emergency sign lamps should ensure that there is no cover;

3. When installing the fire emergency sign lamps with evacuation direction indicating arrows, the evacuation direction indicated by the arrows should be the same as the evacuation direction;

4, the fire emergency sign lamps indicating the exit should be fixed on the solid wall or under the ceiling, the installation mode can be bright installation, also can be embedded in the wall installation;

5, fire emergency lamps should be installed to ensure that various state indicators on the lamps are easy to observe, the test button (switch) can be manually or remotely operated;

6, fire emergency lighting installation, in front of the direction of evacuation, should prevent glare measures;

7, fire emergency lamps should be hoisted to use metal pipe, the upper end of the pipe should be fixed on the building entity or component;

8, as an auxiliary indicator, light-storage signs can only be installed in the same direction as the sign lamps, but can not replace the sign lamps;

9, fire emergency lamps should be installed in the wall and do not burn decoration materials.

Installation of major components of the system

1. Installation of fire emergency marking lamps

When installing at the top, try not to install at the top. The distance between the upper part of the lamps and the ceiling should be greater than 200mm. When hoisting, the metal boom or chain should be used, and the upper end of the boom or chain should be fixed on the structural parts of the building;

When the low position is installed in the evacuation corridor and its corner, it shall be installed on the wall below 1m from the ground (floor). The surface of the sign shall be parallel to the wall, and the protruding part of the wall shall not have sharp corners and protruding fixed parts;

When installed on the ground, all metal components of the lamps shall adopt corrosion resistant components or be treated with corrosion protection. The power connection and control line connection shall be sealed with sealant. The surface of the sign lamps shall be parallel to the ground, the height difference with the ground shall not be greater than 3mm, and the contact edge with the ground shall not be greater than 1mm.

When installing the visual continuous fire emergency sign lamps in the evacuation corridors and main evacuation lines of large indoor public places with dense personnel, the direction indicated by arrows or the direction of guiding light flow should be consistent with the direction of evacuation.

2. Installation of fire emergency lighting fixtures

Fire emergency lighting should be evenly arranged, preferably installed in the shed roof or the side wall 2m above the floor;

When installed on the top of the side wall, the distance from the bottom to the ground shall not be less than 2m. When installed on the side wall below 1m from the ground, the embedded installation shall be adopted. The maximum horizontal distance from the protruding wall shall not exceed 20mm, and the light shall be sure to shine below the horizontal line of the installation lamps. It shall not be installed on the ground or the side wall between 1 and 2m;

When hoisting, adopt metal boom or chain, the upper end of the boom or chain should be fixed on the structural parts of the building.

3. Installation of emergency lighting distribution box and distribution equipment

Emergency lighting distribution box and distribution equipment landing installation above 50mm above the ground, the minimum width of the channel before and after the screen should comply with the provisions of “low-voltage distribution design specification” GB50054;

When the emergency lighting distribution box and distribution device are installed on the wall, the bottom margin height should be 1.3-1.5m from the ground, the side distance near the door shaft should not be less than 0.5m from the wall, and the front operating distance should not be less than 1.0m.

4, emergency power box and supporting installation

The connection line between the emergency power box and the lamp should be welded or pressed;

When hoisting, the metal boom or chain should be used, and the upper end of the boom or chain should be fixed on the structural parts of the building;

When installed in the ceiling, the manual test device should be installed in a position that can be operated, the ceiling should be opened, and there should be distinct marks on the lower surface of the ceiling.

5. Installation of centralized power supply for emergency lighting

The installation site shall be free of corrosive gases, vapors, inflammables and dust. The battery should be installed in a well-ventilated place. It is forbidden to be placed in a sealed environment, gas pipeline, warehouse and other places.

When installing on the ground, it should be 150mm above the ground, and the channels before and after the screen should be able to meet the needs of battery replacement.

6. Installation of emergency lighting controller

When installed on the wall, the bottom margin height of the emergency lighting controller should be 1.3-1.5m. When installed near the door or the side wall, the normal switch of the emergency lighting controller door should be ensured. The front operating distance should not be less than 1.2m. When installed on the ground, the bottom edge should be 0.1-0.2m higher than the floor.

Emergency lighting controller should be installed firmly, not tilt, installed in the light wall, should take reinforcement measures;

The main power supply of emergency lighting controller should have obvious signs, and should be directly connected with the fire power supply, do not use the power plug. Emergency lighting controller and external standby power supply should be directly connected. Grounding shall be firm and shall be clearly marked;

The control line of emergency lighting controller should be threaded separately. The cables or wires leading into the emergency lighting controller should be arranged neatly, avoid crossing, and fixed firmly; The cable core wire and the end part of the matched wire should be marked with serial number, consistent with the drawing, and the writing should be clear and not easy to fade; Each terminal of the terminal board shall not exceed 2 wires; No less than 200mm allowance shall be left for the cable core and conductor; The wires shall be bound into bundles; After the wire passes through the pipe, the pipe mouth should be sealed.

7. Installation of evacuation indicator signs

When installed on the ground of evacuation walkway and main evacuation route, the indicated direction of evacuation shall be the same as that of sign lamps, and the installation spacing shall not be greater than 1.5m;

Fixed firmly, without damage;

When installation is on the ground, can use inlay type craft only, after its installation should level off, firm.

8. Selection and laying of wires and cables

When the output branch of the centralized power supply for emergency lighting and the control line of the centralized control system are laid in the shaft and there is no fire separation between them and the wires and cables with the combustion performance below B1 level in the shaft, the cables and wires with the combustion performance of A level shall be selected; When there is fire separation, choose the B1 level of combustion performance of the wire and cable;

For the output line of emergency lighting distribution electric device and the control line of centralized control system, when the combustion performance is B1 level electric wire and cable, metal pipe shall be worn for protection; It can also be laid in cable tray or cable slot with same combustion performance. When the combustion performance is grade A wire and cable, it can be applied clearly.

When installing on the ground or in damp places, the power supply lines and control lines of lamps should be made of corrosion-resistant rubber cables.

Cables of different voltage levels should not be threaded into the same protective tube. When the same groove is used together, there should be metal baffles in the groove to separate them.

The distribution branch of the system should adopt copper conductor, and the control circuit should adopt multi-conductor.
